Bloomberg urges cops to strike

So congress can crack down on guns. This jackass clearly has no clue about the law abiding gun owners who many a times has come to the aid of downed officers.

Or the fact these perps always choose to strike in gun free zones.

I still got it

After a 6 month hiatus from shooting and some initial warm up shots i was still able to make a 10 shot cluster o this 4" shoot n c target at 25 yards.

Weapon used = Smith & Wesson MP .45 acp.

Smith and Wesson Sigma Accessories

Smith and Wesson it has been said has been trying to fade out the Smith and Wesson Sigma for some time now. They recently came out with the Smith and Wesson SD line of pistols to replaced the Sigma but this seemed to failed miserably mainly I think because of cost.

The Smith and Wesson SD was essentially the Sigma with some more lines, a picatinny rail and a night sight front post.

What they should have done is kept the Sigma name and added these small but cheap improvements. I think this would have been a better move.

The Smith and Wesson Sigma has been around for quite some time now during this time they have built up a strong user base of over 1 million owners and several big name aftermarket manufacturers like, Crimson Trace, Laserlyte, Lasermax, Fobus and Blackhawk to name a few producing everthing from Holsters to laser sights for the Smith and Wesson Sigma.

With such a larger user base and numerous aftermarket accessories available for the Sigma. Its looks like these two factors have kept the Sigma alive for so long. A semi-auto pistol plagued by a horrible almost 14 pound trigger pull.

Buts users still clammer to buy the Sigma mainly because of its price for about $350 you can get a semi-auto pistol holding 16 rounds of 9mm with the legendary reliability of the Smith and Wesson brand. Plus its users seem to love to trick out the gun with various Smith and Wesson Sigma Accessories available. On this site alone we found over 17 different accessories for the Sigma.

If Smith and Wesson decided to do away with the Sigma pistol line there would be a lot of unhappy campers.

Google Vs The Firearm Industry ?

I heard this before and recently read on another gun blog that Google is sending out emails to firearm vendors stating that their products will be removed from Google shopping.

I remember a few months back I was trying to get an affiliate campaign going for a FFL product by advertising it in Google Adwords.

I created the ad and budget but after submitting the category I was told that these types of ads have to be approved before they run in Google's ad network. I waited patiently but never got a response from Google regarding the ad. I left it alone deciding to focus on how I normally earn online which by selling ad space on my blog to programs like Google's adsense and Infolinks. Its not much money but this does help me to keep the blog going with funds for reviewing new items.

Then I noticed that I had a 33% drop in ad revenue from Google Adsense and I could  not figure out why. The next month my earnings again fell another 7% from the previous month.

This month I attended Google's Adsense in your city seminar here in New York to learn some more ways to optimize my Ads in the hopes of bringing back up my blog earnings.

First the seminar had two presentation sections then they had a 1 on 1 session with an Adsense specialist who would review your site / blog and advise of better placement options to increase revenue.

I saw this as the opportunity to hear from the horses mouth so I asked the question. Can you tell me why my Adsense earnings are decreasing ?

The Adsense rep was very straight forward and stated Google is trying to phase out use of its products or services with firearm related sites. It now dawned on me the rumors were true.

I immediately started checking the ads that appear on my site from Google Adsense and realized that the big name advertisers like Brownells, Frontsight, Cheaper than dirt,Outdoor Nerds, Optics planet were all no longer in the rotation. Replacing those gun related ads were ads from Ford and Planet fitness.

Which would explain the significant drop in earnings. (1)The ads are no longer targeted so I am now getting less clicks and (2) the big name advertisers that would pay top dollar per click have all left the Adsense program or were forced to leave, who knows.

I don't know what is Google's beef  with the firearm industry and did not bother to ask the rep why because this decision was clearly above his pay grade, but this a very unfair practice on Google's part.  Several gun bloggers like myself depend on their Adsense earnings to monetize our blogs.

I guess now I will have to start selling my own ad space ? Guess what ? Google has an app that can help me do that too for free it's called DFP. Which can be used to serve Adsense ads along with your own ads as well as any other third party ad.

Some how I dont think I will be using it. I hate the idea that I am so heavily reliant on services from a company that seems to have started a covert war with the industry that I love.

Semi-automatic shotgun for $350 ?

Yes you can get the Russian made Baikal MP153 semi-auto shotgun for about $350 brand new.
The Baikal MP153 semi-auto shotgun comes with a 4 +1 (can be extended to 7+1) capacity,28-30" barrel and synthetic black, camo or wood stock. Below is a video of it being torture tested were its dropped in thick mud and water and still fires like a charm.

Recoil is said to be very good and there is no racking or pumping to shoot this shotgun just point and pull the trigger.

What i would like to see is a shorter barrel higher capacity Baikal MP153 semi-auto shotgun before i decide to make the purchase of the Baikal MP153 semi-auto shotgun but if you hunt with a shotgun and you are on a budget the Baikal MP153 semi-auto shotgun might be an option for you.

Im back in Florida

Thats means more outdoor excursions and trips to the range ! Yeeeeah buddy !!

Bye bye Smith & Wesson MP 22 pistol ?

With the announcement of the split next year between Walther and Smith & Wesson it has me wonder if their will be problems with the production of the Smith & Wesson MP 22 pistol.

Smith & Wesson has decided to.severe ties with the Walther brand due to poor sales. I personally think they just dont market the Walther brand as much they do their own. Walther makes some pretty nice guns. A bit pricey but nice.

Walther has decided to do their own distribution in the USA and has formed a company here to do so.

The only product left that will keep both companies tied is the Smith & Wesson MP 22 pistol. Walther will still nake it for now but something tells me this wont last either.

Im about to go pick one up before production halts.

.22 caliber for self defense ?

With all the new weapons coming out lately chambered for the .22 caliber round are we going to see some new ammo that could drive this popular rifle and pistol round to self defense capabilities ?

For starters just having a .22 round that can go through heavy clothing would be nice.
