Wiki Weapon - Make your own Glock at home

The picture here is of an actual AR15 lower which was created from a 3D Printer. The guys over at Defense Distributed are shaking the gun industry up with a new project called Wiki Weapon.

Based on the concept of wiki this project is about creating CAD drawings to produce a fully functional weapon (rifles and pistols ) that can be printed on a 3D printer complete with moving parts.

When 3D printers came out they were extremely pricey now you can get one for around $500 US and a spool of ABS plastic to print with goes for about $50. Google also has a free 3D design software that also can churn out print worthy design its called SketchUp.

This is obviously a collaborated project and you must have some level of 3D design experience to contribute. I love this idea and I think it will flourish with the right contributors. Watch the video below to learn more or you can visit the website: defense distrubuted.
